Throne and Liberty transfer begins November 10
Western live operations for Throne and Liberty are moving to NC. Services will temporarily close when transfer maintenance begins on November 10.
A date for the transfer announced in August
A key date has now been set for the handover of Throne and Libertyโs Western live operations from Amazon Game Studios to NC. The operational change was first announced in August, and the service-transfer maintenance needed to carry it out will begin on November 10, 2026. This work represents the central technical stage in moving day-to-day service responsibility to the new operator.
Services connected to the game will be temporarily unavailable once maintenance starts. This is not simply downtime for a routine game update: the teams will be moving the existing service and player records into NCโs operation. Amazon Game Studios and NC are continuing to work together with the goal of completing that handover as smoothly as possible.
Characters and progression are included
Under the announced plan, all player data will transfer to NC. The stated scope includes characters, account progression and entitlements tied to players. In practical terms, the maintenance is designed as a continuation of the current player state under a new service structure, rather than a fresh start that discards the progress already made.
The inclusion of entitlements also means that content rights associated with player accounts form part of the migration plan. The notice does not, however, provide separate procedures for individual content types or list special steps that players must complete. The confirmed point at this stage is that player data, characters, progression and entitlements are all part of the transfer to NC.
The full maintenance schedule is still to come
Although November 10 is confirmed as the starting date, a detailed maintenance timetable has not yet been published. The exact shutdown time, the estimated length of the work and the point at which services will reopen are due to be shared later. Players should therefore avoid planning around an assumed return time until those details arrive.
A live-service handover of this scale requires more than moving game servers. Account records and access rights also need to remain correctly associated throughout the change. The temporary closure gives the teams a controlled window for that work. Once an estimated maintenance duration is announced, players will be able to plan regular sessions and time-sensitive in-game activity with greater confidence.
What players should watch before the handover
For now, the most useful preparation is to account for the temporary interruption on November 10 and watch for the more detailed maintenance notice. Community estimates should not be treated as confirmed timing before official hours are provided. If additional instructions are introduced for the transfer, checking them through the gameโs official channels will be the safest approach.
The current update clarifies the scope of the handover and the categories of data being carried forward, while leaving technical timing for the next announcement. That follow-up is expected to focus on the starting hour, estimated downtime and reopening of services. Until then, the confirmed schedule is limited to maintenance beginning on November 10, 2026, with services temporarily offline during the transfer.
