THRONE AND LIBERTY Update 4.1.0 targets Remnants of Nix flow and key fixes
THRONE AND LIBERTY Update 4.1.0 focuses on Remnants of Nix, changing encounter timing and fixing several issues that affected flow. Downtime was scheduled for July 1 with an estimated 3.5-hour window.
Remnants of Nix gets a pacing adjustment
THRONE AND LIBERTY Update 4.1.0 was announced with a July 1 maintenance window, scheduled to begin at 10:30 p.m. PT, or 5:30 a.m. UTC, and last around 3.5 hours. The update is focused heavily on Remnants of Nix rather than broad new content, which makes it a practical patch for players already running that activity.
The most visible pacing change is the Elite Monster spawn timing. Instead of appearing at the start of the session, Elite Monsters now spawn 10 minutes into the session. That gives groups more room to enter, orient themselves, assign responsibilities and settle into the activity before a higher-pressure target appears. For random groups or less optimized parties, that can make the opening feel significantly less chaotic.
Butcher Masaraks becomes a more direct threat
Update 4.1.0 also changes Butcher Masaraks into an aggressive monster. Its behavior has been adjusted so it no longer tracks targets by circling around terrain. AI behavior changes like this can have a big impact on how readable an encounter feels, because players need to understand whether danger is coming from intended mechanics or awkward pathing.
In MMO encounters, movement logic can matter as much as health or damage values. A boss or elite that follows players in strange ways can feel unfair even if its raw numbers are reasonable. By making Masaraks more direct and reducing odd terrain-based tracking, the patch should make the encounter easier to read while still preserving its threat within Remnants of Nix.
Bunker and Purification problems are addressed
Several fixes target issues that could interrupt the activity's flow. The patch resolves a problem where players could occasionally get stuck when the bunker door closed. It also fixes monsters failing to enter the bunker interior. Together, those changes suggest the team is tightening the spatial rules of the encounter so objectives, enemies and players interact more consistently.
Purification also receives attention. A bug preventing Great Success results during Purification has been fixed, along with placeholder text appearing on Flames of Purification. These may sound like small notes, but reward feedback and interface clarity matter in repeatable MMO content. Update 4.1.0 is not trying to reinvent THRONE AND LIBERTY; it is smoothing a live activity that players are already using.
