THRONE AND LIBERTY Seeks a Player-Designed Gauntlets Skin
The THRONE AND LIBERTY team is inviting original designs that could become an official Gauntlets cosmetic. Entries remain open until September 3.
A player design could enter the game
THRONE AND LIBERTY’s new Gauntlets weapon is moving from its first battles into a different kind of test: a community design contest. The development and community teams want players to create an original appearance for the weapon. The main prize goes beyond recognition, as the winning concept will have an opportunity to become an official in-game cosmetic.
Professional illustration experience is not presented as a requirement. Established artists can enter, but so can players who have a strong visual idea and limited drawing experience. The announcement places creativity ahead of artistic credentials. In practical terms, a concept with a memorable silhouette, coherent materials and a clear theme can make an impression even if its presentation is less polished than another submission.
How submissions and selection will work
The submission window opened on August 20 and closes on September 3, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. PT. Entrants should convert that deadline to their own time zone and avoid leaving the upload until the final minutes. Since the contest specifically calls for original work, developing a distinct idea that suits the close-combat identity of Gauntlets is a better direction than reproducing existing game assets or another artist’s work.
After entries close, the Community Team and Development Team will narrow the field to ten finalists. The teams will not make the final choice alone: community voting begins on September 8, with players choosing the grand-prize winner through Discord. The structure gives the developers a chance to consider whether concepts fit the game while leaving the decisive preference among the shortlisted designs to the community.
What designers should consider
Gauntlets appear on both hands and move closely with character animations, so a strong proposal needs to do more than look attractive in a static image. The relationship between the left and right pieces, a silhouette readable at gameplay distance, colors that cooperate with armor sets and details that do not overwhelm combat effects are all useful considerations. A theme that feels grounded in Solisium may also make a concept more convincing, while the emphasis on originality leaves room for ideas bolder than a minor variation of an existing set.
For players, the contest is an uncommon opportunity to influence the game’s visual identity directly. Even designs that do not reach the final ten can communicate what kinds of styles the community wants for the weapon. Entrants should recheck the official announcement for submission format and complete rules before sending their work, while voters can watch Discord from September 8. Players trading currency, items or accounts can also use GameinShop’s escrow-protected marketplace.
