ExileCon 2026 Is One Month Away: Both Games Share the Stage
Grinding Gear Games has begun the final one-month countdown to ExileCon 2026, taking place in Auckland on November 7-8. Announcements for both games, developer sessions and race finals will anchor the event.
The countdown to Auckland begins
Grinding Gear Games has reconfirmed that ExileCon 2026 will take place on November 7 and 8 in New Zealand time. The convention returns to Auckland’s Aotea Centre during the studio’s twentieth-anniversary year. That makes this more than a reminder about an approaching community gathering: it is a major developer event where Path of Exile and Path of Exile 2 will be presented together across the same weekend.
The confirmed pillars currently include new announcements, developer talks, on-site demos of unreleased content and race finals for both games. GGG has not yet identified the leagues, updates or release dates that may appear, however. Expectations are understandably high, but predictions about a particular expansion or patch should remain separate from the program the studio has actually confirmed.
The full two-day event will stream for free
Players unable to travel to Auckland will be able to watch the entire event free on Twitch and YouTube across both days. GGG’s published plan has the broadcasts beginning at 12:00 PM PST on November 6 and 7, with the keynote starting at 1:00 PM PST. The dates appear one day earlier in that time zone because the physical convention runs on November 7-8 in New Zealand; viewers should check the platforms’ local-time display before tuning in.
The broadcast will extend beyond the main presentation. Live podcasts featuring Path of Exile creators, developer panels and other stage programming from the weekend are also planned for the stream. Co-streaming will be permitted. New Twitch Drops are coming as well, although the rewards, account-linking requirements and necessary viewing time have not yet been announced.
Reveals, technical talks and two sets of finals
Game directors Jonathan Rogers and Mark Roberts are due to present previously unannounced developments during the keynote. Developer sessions running through the weekend will cover production topics ranging from game design to engine technology. Attendees can also try unreleased content on demo machines and share feedback directly with the developers, giving the convention a hands-on dimension beyond a sequence of trailers.
The competitive program includes race finals for both Path of Exile and Path of Exile 2, spread across the two convention days. This gives the event a broader purpose than a short-lived tournament notice: the original game’s established racing community and the sequel’s developing competitive scene will meet under one program. The finals still should not be treated as evidence for an update date or content roadmap that GGG has not formally revealed.
The detailed schedule is still to come
GGG says the complete event schedule is receiving its final adjustments and should be released within a few weeks. Further attendee guidance, including the cosplay policy and a code of conduct for participating streamers, will also arrive separately. The one-month update introduced a very limited additional batch of tickets; because availability may change quickly, prospective visitors should verify the current status on the official ExileCon page.
Online viewers can now save the broadcast times in their own time zones and wait for the Twitch Drops instructions. Travelers should base their plans on the official attendee notices as they are published. ExileCon 2026 matters because it is not merely another esports date: it provides one concentrated weekend in which GGG can explain the direction of both Path of Exile games.
