Path of Exile: Curse of the Allflame sets sail
Curse of the Allflame sends Path of Exile 1 players beneath the ocean with chart-driven expeditions, a bathysphere and new crafting choices.
The Voyage league dives beneath the ocean
Path of Exile 1’s Curse of the Allflame expansion is now live. Its central journey follows corsair captain Valerie and her cursed navigator Vesper as they hunt forgotten treasure beneath the ocean floor. Players assemble scattered Charts, board the legendary ship The Sovereign and descend into dangerous Voyage expeditions aboard an Allflame-powered Bathysphere.
These expeditions offer more than a change of scenery. Valuable relics, hostile sea creatures and long-buried secrets wait below. Gathering Charts and preparing a voyage adds a fresh objective to map progression, while the Bathysphere creates a separate exploration layer where players must weigh potential rewards against the dangers of pushing farther into the depths.
Allflame Crafting and permanent additions
Allflame Crafting is the expansion’s other headline system. It connects materials recovered during expeditions with item-development decisions, encouraging players to plan how loot is used instead of simply collecting it. During the opening days of the league, discoveries around recipes and scarce inputs could quickly reshape demand and determine which bases or resources carry the most value.
Mercenaries of Trarthus also graduates from temporary league content to a permanent feature of the core game. Alongside it comes the new Luminary Ascendancy for the Scion. Players who enjoyed recruiting combat support and those who build flexible Scion characters therefore gain lasting options that extend well beyond the new seasonal mechanic.
Progression and the endgame receive broad changes
Curse of the Allflame does not stop at adding a league. Redesigned socket and spellcasting systems alter fundamental parts of character progression and the relationship between gear planning and skill setups. Rather than importing an older build unchanged, returning players should verify links, mana requirements, support choices and any assumptions that depended on the previous systems.
Atlas Anomalies bring encounters inspired by recognizable Path of Exile mechanics into the Atlas. Abyss and Legion also receive extensive endgame overhauls. Anyone whose mapping strategy depended on one established farming route should reassess the Atlas, considering the new reward distribution, encounter pacing and their build’s survivability before committing valuable resources.
Launch rewards and sensible first steps
A launch Twitch Drops campaign began at 1:00 PM PDT on July 24 and runs through the first week. Watching eligible Path of Exile 1 streams for a total of three hours unlocks the Nautical Explorer Back Attachment. Buying or gifting two subscriptions on eligible channels before 4:59 AM PDT on August 1 unlocks the Allflame Crafting Bench hideout decoration.
Both rewards are cosmetic and provide no power or progression advantage. Returning players should review the socket and spell changes first, then collect Charts and test early Voyage expeditions before investing heavily.
