RuneFest 2026 Sets Out Its OSRS Weekend Programme

Jagex outlined the RuneFest 2026 programme on 29 September. The OSRS Summit, PvP Invitational and Golden Gnomes led the two-day event guide.

A 6,000-player RuneFest in Birmingham

Jagex's 29 September briefing set out RuneFest 2026 for 3–4 October in Hall 5 of the National Exhibition Centre (NEC) in Birmingham. The two-day gathering was planned as the largest in-person event of RuneScape's 25th-anniversary celebrations, with room for 6,000 players. The article described the confirmed programme at the time of publication rather than results or reveals that emerged after the event.

The convention was broader than Old School RuneScape alone. RuneScape, OSRS and RuneScape: Dragonwilds each had dedicated content, while two stages were due to host developer sessions, community programming and in-person activities. The announced schedule therefore served as a practical guide for both ticket holders travelling to Birmingham and players following the weekend from home.

Livestream and the OSRS Summit

The main Saturday broadcast was scheduled to begin at 13:00 UTC on 3 October. The running order listed the welcome ceremony at 13:15, the PvP Invitational at 14:00, the Dragonwilds Summit at 15:00, the Golden Gnomes at 16:00, the RuneScape Summit at 18:00 and the Old School RuneScape Summit at 19:00. Six giveaways were also planned, with entry details due through the official Discord communities.

For OSRS players, the focal point was the Summit from 19:00 to 20:00 UTC. Jagex said it would show plans for the game's future but kept the actual surprises out of the preview. Mods Ayiza, Kieren and Sween were then scheduled for a 20:00–20:30 follow-up exclusively on the Old School RuneScape Twitch channel. That discussion was intended to add context to the subjects unveiled during the Summit.

PvP Invitational and Golden Gnomes

The PvP Invitational occupied the 14:00–14:45 UTC slot on 3 October. Six creators—61m, Dino, Katerena, Odablock, Purpp and Westham—were set to compete in-game, with B0aty and PureSpam providing commentary. Organisers presented the winner's reward as a mystery that had not even been shared with the contestants; naturally, the 29 September preview contained no tournament result.

The main livestreamed Golden Gnomes ceremony was scheduled for 16:00–17:30 UTC. Community nominations and voting recognised creators, artists and positive contributors across Jagex's three games. A separate presentation was planned for the Varrock Stage at 14:00 BST so that more winners could receive time on stage. This part would not be broadcast, and a follow-up article on 4 October was due to list every winner.

App, merchandise and practical details

In-person ticket holders were advised to install the official RuneFest app before arriving. Login instructions would be sent to the email address used to buy the ticket. The app offered access to a personal schedule, meet-and-greet booking and the merchandise catalogue. Its new IRL Questing feature was designed to turn the idea of quests in Gielinor into activities completed around the real-world venue.

Jagex also prepared a six-design clothing collection with OSRS community artist Scape Ink. Limited quantities of the Slayer Hoodie, Wise Old Man Tee and Ancient Magicks Tee were due at the event shop in M, L and XL. Selected stage sessions were expected to be recorded for later viewing. Time zones mattered when planning: broadcast times were given in UTC, while some activities at the venue were listed in British Summer Time.
