Sheogorath’s Holiday Brings a Six-Quest Story to ESO

ESO players can now escort Sheogorath on an unusual tour of Tamriel. The free six-quest storyline arrives alongside a new Golden Pursuits campaign.

The Prince of Madness takes time off

The Elder Scrolls Online has launched Sheogorath Takes a Holiday, the second new story questline of Season One, across all platforms. Available from July 29 and free to every ESO player, it gives people without the latest expansion a straightforward way to take part in a current story. Its six quests combine Daedric danger with the deliberately absurd premise of a sightseeing trip.

Players accompany Noth the Unhinged and her master, Sheogorath, as they travel through Tamriel. The apparent plan is to sample the continent’s cheeses and let the Prince of Madness experience mortal life. His unusual vulnerability does not go unnoticed, however. Hostile forces see the holiday as an opportunity, turning a comic journey into a conflict with consequences beyond a ruined itinerary.

Six quests create an accessible story arc

A six-part structure makes this more substantial than a brief seasonal activity. Each step can develop the relationship between Noth and Sheogorath, introduce another stop on the tour, and reveal why their enemies are gathering. For players already following Season One, it is the season’s second major narrative beat. For returning players, it is current content with a low barrier to entry.

The simultaneous release on every platform also lets the community discover and discuss the story together. The announcement places no additional purchase requirement on the questline, so anyone with access to ESO can participate. Clearing some room in the quest journal and preparing convenient wayshrines before starting should make the trip across Tamriel smoother.

Golden Pursuits adds a reward track

The storyline is accompanied by a Golden Pursuits campaign with gameplay objectives and bonus rewards. That pairing gives story-focused players and collectors a reason to enter the same content window. Before setting out, it is worth reviewing the campaign objectives in the game: activities that overlap with the quests can then be completed together instead of repeated later.

Rewards add useful momentum, but the lasting part of this release is the playable narrative. Unlike a broadcast or match schedule, six connected quests provide characters, locations and a complete arc to experience at the player’s own pace. Anyone aiming for every campaign reward should still check the in-game deadline and requirements rather than assume the pursuit will remain available indefinitely.

Who should return for it?

Players who enjoy Sheogorath’s unpredictable humor, Daedric stories and journeys through familiar regions of Tamriel have the clearest reason to return. Free access also makes it easier for friends who own different editions of ESO to begin together. At six quests, the chain promises a focused evening or several shorter sessions without demanding the commitment of a full chapter.

After the adventure, players returning to the economy can buy or sell ESO gold and eligible account products on GameinShop with escrow protection.
