Apex Legends: Marked Recasts Bloodhound as a True Hunter
The Marked gameplay trailer reveals stronger tracking tools and a new Ultimate for Bloodhound. World’s Edge and the loot meta are changing too.
Bloodhound takes control of the hunt
Apex Legends’ Marked update pushes Bloodhound beyond the familiar role of a recon Legend who simply supplies information. According to the gameplay trailer, the character will track targets more effectively and gain more control over when to commit to a fight. Improved tracking sits at the center of the rework. It should make an enemy’s route easier to interpret and help a squad turn scattered clues into a practical attack plan.
That direction could reward Bloodhound players for more than activating a scan on cooldown. A player who reads tracks well may relocate a fleeing squad, cut off a rotation, or decide that a chase is not worth the risk. The trailer does not provide exact values, so details such as range, duration, and cooldown will need to wait for the full patch notes. The design intention is nevertheless clear: Bloodhound is being positioned as a Legend who chooses a target and maintains pressure.
A new Ultimate favors strikes from the shadows
Marked also gives Bloodhound a new Ultimate. The presentation frames it around stalking opponents and attacking from the shadows, a concept that could change the character’s rhythm in team fights. Moving directly from gathering information into a chase may leave enemies less time to heal, revive, or establish a better position. Timing should matter especially in areas with short sightlines, multiple floors, and several possible exits.
Players may find uses beyond straightforward aggression. A concealed approach could help dislodge an opponent from cover, reach a fallen teammate’s banner, or secure an angle before the fight begins. On the other side, squads will have more reason to listen for audio cues, preserve escape abilities, and avoid leaving one member isolated. The real balance picture will only emerge once the live version reveals how the Ultimate interacts with other Legends and defensive tools.
World’s Edge and Corrupted Attachments may reshape the meta
The update is not limited to one Legend. World’s Edge is receiving changes, with the trailer inviting players to claim new territory across the map. Revised locations can alter the value of drop zones, early-game loot routes, and defensive positions used in final rings. Squads relying on old habits may be surprised by changed paths or sightlines. Spending the first few matches exploring instead of forcing the usual rotation could therefore become a genuine competitive advantage.
New Corrupted Attachments add another decision layer to weapon loadouts. The trailer does not explain their complete rules, but the corrupted theme suggests that a meaningful benefit may come with a cost or a special condition. That is an inference rather than a confirmed mechanic, and the official notes will be needed before judging their strength. For now, players should be ready to test alternatives instead of assuming that their established weapon setup will remain optimal.
Loba and Rampart buffs broaden squad options
Buffs announced for Loba and Rampart could also widen the set of viable team compositions in Marked. Loba’s control over loot and resources may become more valuable for squads learning a revised map and trying to gear up safely. Rampart’s ability to establish a position and deliver sustained fire could suit new areas of World’s Edge. Because the trailer does not list numerical changes, any verdict on their ranked standing should wait for complete patch notes.
Taken together, the features establish a season built around the line between hunter and hunted. Bloodhound mains will need to relearn their pursuit tools, while opponents may have to move with greater discipline. Re-exploring World’s Edge, testing Corrupted Attachment interactions, and finding the new limits of Loba and Rampart will define the opening week.
